KCU Women Finish Season with Big Home Win
Grayson, KY – The Kentucky Christian women’s basketball team finished off the regular season with a resounding 92-61 win over Columbia College. This game saw every available player in the scoring column and three players in double-digits.
Now that the page has been turned on the regular season, attentions are focused on the post-season. The Lady Knights ended their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) slate with a 12-12 record, which was good enough for a 9th place finish entering the conference’s 10-team tournament. The AAC women’s basketball bracket will be announced on Sunday.
Jada Higgins paced KCU with a 22 pt./14 reb. double-double. To that, she added two assists, a steal and a blocked shot. Just missing her own double-double, Lakyn Adkins posted 12 pts and nine rebounds to go with an assist, four steals and a block. Adkins was also a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
The final member of the double-figure club, Bell Sparks had 11 pts and three rebounds coming off the bench. Savannah Parker had a god night at the charity stripe, as she was a perfect 4-4.
