Knights Drops Game to Tennessee Wesleyan after Late Score
Athens, TN - Friday's game against Tennessee Wesleyan was a heartbreaker for KCU, the game tied at two with Tennessee Wesleyan batting in the bottom of the sixth when Aiden McClary singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. This opened the floodgates as TWU scored another four runs, pushing the lead to 2-7.
The Bulldogs pitching staff did their job and held Kentucky Christian scoreless the rest of the game while adding an insurance run to set the final score, 2-8
- Christin Garcia was 3-3 (2B) for the day and was credited with the only RBI for the Knights. He also worked a walk from the Bulldogs starter, Gage Vailes.
- Scoring one of his team’s runs, Yan Rivera went 2-5 from the plate.
- Cody Holub also collected two hits for the Knights.
- Sam Goude was tagged with the loss. He surrendered seven earned runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out seven.
