CIU Sweeps Knights in South Carolina

Columbia, SC – With the Rams taking the first game of the series on Friday, KCU needed to sweep Saturday’s twin-bill for the series win. Unfortunately, that was not to be as Columbia International brought out the brooms and won both games, 1-7 and 8-9.
Game 1
- Cristian Garcia had two hits for the Knights.
- Right fielder, Justin Legg, drove in the Kentucky Christian run and was 1-3 for the contest.
- Cody Holub was 1-4 and scored the lone KCU run.
- Elijah Spurlock took the loss. He went six innings and was charged with three earned runs while striking out five and walking four.
Game 2
- Holub kept things going in the second game with a 3-4 performance scoring one run and driving in another.
- Going 2-4, Tucker Sorenson had one RBI and scored three runs.
- Legg was also 2-4 and drove in two runs.
- Zach Pope got the loss in relief as he pitched one complete inning surrendering two earned runs on three hits and walked one.
Who's Up Next
The Knights will step outside the AAC and travel to Wilberforce, OH for a single game with the Bulldogs next Tuesday. The game time is set for 1:00 PM.
