Bassmaster College Series National Tournament at Lake Cherokee
JEFFERSON CITY, TN – The Bassmaster College Series National Tournament kicked off at Lake Cherokee today, with a blast-off at 6 a.m. and weigh-in scheduled for 2 p.m. The tournament features a competitive field of 154 boats, with the same schedule set for Friday the 11th. After the second day of competition, the field will be cut to the top 12 teams.
Three local teams qualified for the national tournament by finishing in the top 10% at a regular season event: Brantley Anders/Reece Keeney, Elijah Kelley/Chris Baker, and Cameron Dials/Ethan Burnette.
After Day 1, Cameron Dials and Ethan Burnette were in 14th place with a total weight of 13 pounds, 9 ounces. Elijah Kelley and Chris Baker were currently in 55th place with 11 pounds, while Reece Keeney and Brantley Anders sit in 67th with 10 pounds, 4 ounces.
On Day 2, the competition continued with a take-off at 6 a.m. and weigh-in at 2 p.m. After the second day of fishing, Cameron and Ethan finished 19th with a total weight of 25 pounds, just 9 ounces shy of making the top 12. Elijah and Chris finished in 28th place with 23 pounds, 9 ounces, while Reece and Brantley concluded the tournament in 120th place with 10 pounds, 4 ounces.
The tournament continues to showcase the talent and dedication of college anglers from across the nation, as they compete for top honors on the water.
