Bio
Todd Maynard enters his first season as an head coach for the Kentucky Christian University women’s basketball program. A proud KCU alum, Todd graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in University Studies/Biblical Studies and a minor in Business Management.
Prior to being a head coach, Todd spent one full season as an assistant coach for the men's basketball team at KCU.
As a former player for the Knights, Todd was part of two successful seasons. In 2007–2008, he helped lead the team to a regional championship and a Final Four appearance in the NCCAA National Tournament. The following year, 2008–2009, the Knights repeated as regional champions and made it to the Elite Eight nationally.
Before returning to KCU, Todd served as the head boys’ basketball coach at Huntington St. Joe High School for four years. During that time, he led the program to three state tournament appearances and three regional championships. In the 2021–2022 season, his team reached the Final Four, and he was named the Herald-Dispatch Tri-State Coach of the Year. Over his four-year run, nine of his players earned All-State honors.
Prior to St. Joe, Todd was the head coach at Tolsia High School, where his 2018–2019 team won a sectional title and finished as regional runner-up. He also spent two seasons as a lead assistant at Spring Valley High School in West Virginia.
In addition to his coaching role, Todd serves as the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at KCU. He holds a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University and a Post-Master’s degree in Advanced Educational Leadership from Salem University.
Todd lives in Huntington, West Virginia with his wife, Sara, and their children Mason, Tucker, Layla, Paisley, and Sadie. He is excited to return to his alma mater and help build a strong future for the KCU basketball program.
