Cross Country Competes at Charleston
Charleston, WV – The Kentucky Christian University cross country teams opened their season in Charleston, WV by running in the Charleston Cross Country Invitational.
On the men's side, KCU finished in 4th place. Dylan French (FR/Ironton, OH) (20:54.7), James Overholser (SO/Sharpsburg, KY) (20:57.2) and Payton Herron (FR/Cedarville, OH) (21:01.3) finished the 6K course in 26th-28th place. CJ Kelley (FR/Garfield Heights, OH) (21:16.2) came in 34th and Kolby Wilcox (FR/Kenton, OH) (24:15.1) finished 50th, while the duo of Robie Sibole (25:06.9) and Trace Shearer (FR/Lawrenceburg, KY) (25:12.6) came in 52nd and 53rd, respectively.
For the women, Sydney Reed (FR/Waverly, OH) led the way with her time of 16:41.0 over the 4K course. Her time was just outside the top ten as she took 12th place. Finishing 16th, Jordan Riley (FR/Russell, KY) posted a time of 16:51.7 with Samantha Reed (FR/Waverly, OH)'s 17:38.6 being good enough for a 21st placement. Abriella Edelen (FR/Shelbyville, KY) ran a 18:49.6 that was 28th in this field of 46 runners.
Next up for cross country is a trip to Cedarville (OH) University and the Friendship Invitational. The races will be run on September 17th.
