Tom Posey

Bio

In the 2024-2025 season, Posey's young team was able due to recruiting to fill two Men's teams.  The Knight's Men's and Women's Teams are young and eager to learn and step up to the competitive level in the NCCAA and NAIA. 

Posey is a graduate of Union College, now (Union Commonwealth University) in Barbourville, KY where he earned his bachelor's degree before earning his master's degree from Union College as both degrees had an emphasis in Health, Physical Education and Special Education. Posey played football at Union from 1987-1990 as a Defensive Back/Special Teams. He ran Track in 1989.  Posey served as President of the Student Government Association from 1990-1992. Posey is a native of Danville, Alabama and graduated from Danville HS in 1987 and played football from 1984-1986.  He also attended The Ray Perkins Alabama Football Camp (1984), The Pat Dye Auburn Tigers Football Camp (1985) and The Benny Perrin/Tony Nathan Football Camp in 1986. 

Posey was on the 1st Knights Varsity Football coaching staff in 2007 as Special Teams Coordinator. He has coached Professional Arena Indoor Football for five years. Posey also took seniors to Australia/New Zealand and Hawaii for the Down Under Bowl from 1999-2012, winning Five Championships and Runner Up Four Times. In 2009 Posey was selected to help coach Team New Zealand as the Defensive Coordinator in the World Bowl 18U played in Canton, Ohio. He has coached at Knox Central, Boyle Co., Knott Co. Central, Powell Co., Lewis Co. and Mason Co. High Schools. 

 He also served as an Assistant Baseball Coach at KCU during the 2019-2022 seasons. He also has been an Associate Scout for the Chicago Cubs since 2016.  Posey also has worked for the Cincinnati Reds Youth Baseball and Softball Camps since 2018.  He has also worked as the Head Baseball Coach at Mason County HS from 2012-2018 where he led the Royals to five KHSAA District 39th Championships. He was Head Baseball Coach at Knott Co. Central (1995-1996) and St. Patrick (2022-2024).

He also has been coaching his granddaughter's Lydia's 10u Fastpitch teams.
