KCU "New Look" Women's Soccer Season Preview
Grayson, KY – The Kentucky Christian University women's soccer team definitely qualifies as a program going through transition. With Head Coach Logan Langseth taking over the reins, the Knights will be a different team in 2021 than the team that exited the field last fall.
Within the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) 2021 schedule, the Knights will play host three of the Coach's Poll pre-season top eight teams. On Oct. 2nd, KCU will take on #1 Truett-McConnell University followed by home games against #3 Tennessee Wesleyan University (10/13), and #6 Milligan University (9/22).
The Kentucky Christian road schedule will feature another game against a conference, pre-season #1 … Reinhardt University on Oct. 30th. Reinhardt and Truett-McConnell tied for the top spot as did Brenau University (10/9) and Bryan College (10/16) in the 7th slot. Other notable AAC road contests are #4 Montreat College (10/6), and #5 St. Andrews University (9/25).
During the KCU non-conference schedule, the Knights will travel to Sienna Heights University (9/4) and Madonna University (9/6) for a weekend in Michigan. The Knights open the season at Oakland City University on Aug. 25 for an afternoon contest and then upon returning from the North, they take on the Eagles (9/9) of Midway University. The full schedule can be viewed HERE.
The AAC conference tournament will be a seeded format with the top ten teams qualifying for post-season play. All games will be played at the higher seeded team's site. The conference opening round games will be played on November 2nd with the quarterfinals on the 6th, the semis on the 10th, followed by the championship scheduled for November 13th.
Go Knights!!!
