Women's Soccer Loses Close Road Game
Midway, KY – The Knights played their fourth consecutive road game to open the 2021 season and suffered a 0-1 loss to the Eagles of Midway University. The game was scoreless through the first half but that changed in the 64th minute when MU was awarded a penalty kick which they converted. That score held up for the remainder of the contest.
Knights Stats
- Abbie Hibbs (JR/Danville, KY) led KCU with four total shots with one of those being on goal.
- Right behind Hibbs, Ari Shank (SO/Ramsey, MN) also produced a shot on goal in her three shots taken.
- Jayce Buchner (JR/Russellville, Ky) was credited with the final shot on goal for the Knights offense.
- Royce Henderson (FR/Mt. Sterling, KY) got her first start in goal for KCU and made saves on five of the six shots she faced.
Team Totals
- KCU took 11 shots but were unable to find the back of the net in this extremely tight game.
- An encouraging stat was the ability of the offense to generate double-digit shot attempts.

- The successful penalty kick was the difference.
Who's Up Next
The women open up conference play this weekend as they (and the men) travel to Columbia College (SC) for a Saturday afternoon AAC doubleheader. The KCU Women play at 12:30 PM with the men following at 3:00. Go Knights!!!
