Women Lose to Montreat Late
Montreat, NC - The Kentucky Christian women's soccer team took on the home standing Cavaliers of Montreat College in Appalachian Athletic Conference women's soccer play. When the final horn sounded, the Cavs had a hard earned 1-2 victory.
Kentucky Christian opened the scoring as Ariel Herter (FR/Fort Knox, KY) found the net on an assist by Millie Conod (FR/Walsall, England) in the 6th minute of the game. The score would remain unchanged until the 22nd minute when Montreat's Jackie Montes tied the game 1-1 on an assist from Annika Comendador. That was the score taken into halftime.
The two teams battled throughout the 2nd half and appeared to heading for extra time until the Cavs Isabel Aguilar netted a free kick in the 83rd minute. The game would not see another goal and the final tally was set.
As a team, KCU produced seven shots, led by Herter's three. Conod stopped eight of the ten shots she faced but it was not enough to produce a win for the Knights this day.
